This is a Hagi ware plate which Okada-san has created.
People have loved Japanese grape pattern much as the symbol of long life.
He has used two technique "nagashikake" and "kakiotoshi".
The former means that glaze is pouring with free-flowing and the latter is the technique to apply a pattern by cutting clay.

He is the eighth potter of Okada Kiln founded in the Edo period. Even though he has won numerous awards, Okada-san continues to make new world of Hagi ware pottery.
