Washizome Chigirikamon Menbachi (和紙染ちぎり花文麺鉢)
This is an Arita ware bowl which Hidezumi-san has created.
Three kinds of blue pigments called gosu are used and express the petal's shade.
It is suitable to put ices on the bottom and serve raw fish Japanese osashimi.
Washizome technique :
Tearing absorbent papers called washi to pieces.
Making such papers layers to produce the pattern while giving out color gradation.
Height : 7.5 cm
Diameter : 15.2 cm
He cuts water-absorbent Japanese washi to the proper size, places the paper on unglazed pottery, and soaks it with cobalt blue color. The works affect us with a soft impression.
