Karatsu Yakishime Mizusashi (唐津焼締水指)
This is a Karatsu ware fresh water jar which Mizokami-san has created.
Being fired in a climbing kiln.
He made a technique called tataki-zukuri after forming with coils.
Tataki-zukuri is the way for molding using two kinds of plates tapping inside and outside.
He used the clay picked in the area of Karatsu that contained much iron.
The pot of weight is more than 1.5 kilograms.

Mizusashi (水指)
A fresh-water pot for tea ceremony.
It's one of the tea utensils called "o-chadougu".
It comes in a variety of shapes, cylindrical type is often used.
Comes with a lid.
Lid made of pottery : the same material as the main body called tomo-buta.
Lid made of urushi : a different material from the main body and is made of Japanense urushi called nuri-buta.
Mizusashi is used for the following purpose.
・Adding water to the tea kettle
・Cleaning tools and tea bowl.
