・Japanese Guinomi (sake cup)
A type of cups mainly used for drinking Japanese sake.
Generally it's a larger sized sake cup than Japanese sakazuki, Japanese ochoko and others.
It's said that guinomi can hold twice as much Japanese sake as an ochoko.

Being characterized by a deep base and a wide mouth,
that's why there are many ways of use including sauce, beans, olives and
appetizer bowls, houseplant vase and others.

Actually, pouring sake from a bottle called "tokkuri" and
having the flask with one's hands, and then sipping sake from a "guinomi".

Perfect for enjoying the aroma of alcohol and temperature changes.

Volume : about 80 ml

Tare goma pattern is peculiar to the technique of Bizen ware.
Lots of ash that had adhered to the cup melted in the kiln and dripping.

The color has become silvering.

Hikidashi :
Taking the pottery from the kiln burning just before the door is closed.
Although it's still high-fired and hot, putting into the container with rice husks called "sukumo" in Japanese,
and makes it cool down quickly. Eventually, the color turns black.
The method comes with a risk of breaking, because it's rapidly cooled, then few pieces could be taken at kiln's firing which is quite valuable.
