Yamamiki Kiln is the place of five minutes' drive from the Arita station, JR Sasebo Line, and is ten minutes' drive from Hasamiarita interchange of Nishi Kyushu expressway. The kiln is located in the quiet mountains climbing a slope. Yamaguchi-san opened the kiln in 1982. He graduated form the pottery department of Arita Industry high school, and worked for a furnace building company. He trained the art of throwing the potter’s wheel by himself while he worked as an employee, then determined to become independent of the company after being selected for exhibition. All process of works is made by hand, wedging clay, throwing, engraving, glazing, and unloading.
