Takamoriseiji Kiln is the place of fifteen minutes' drive from the Hasamiarita interchange of Nishi Kyushu expressway. It is a quiet place with the lush, green scenery. Takamori-san became a member of Japan Kogei Association after being selected or won the prize in various public exhibitions, including the Japan Traditional Kogei Exhibition. He is from Kitakyushu-shi, Fukuoka prefecture and entered Arita Technical High School to learn how to make pottery. He also studied in Kyoto. In 2003, Takamoriseiji Kiln was built in Arita-cho, Nishimatsuura-gun, Saga prefecture. In the work place, it is carried out with traditional, careful handmade production. Takamori-san's wife is also a certified Imari Airta traditional craftsman, and helps making porcelain with taking charge of overglaze and underglaze painting. You might see excellent color, deep aesthetic of Ko-imari style.
