Tanbatoji Kiln is the place of tewnty minutes' drive from the Tanbasasayama interchange of Maizuru-Wakasa expressway. Rural scene and the ridgeline is very beautiful in Mt. Taki, it is the place where we feel changing seasons. Kako-san was born in Kyoto-shi, he started working as a ceramic artist after graduated from the department of ceramics, Saga Art College in Kyoto. Primitive scenary attracted him in Kamisasayama, Sasayama-shi. He renovated Japanese old-style house into the kiln, and the storehouse constructed over 180 years ago is used for exhibition room. The place fits into ceramics which exits naturally in the living. People often said that Japanese ceramics are produced by climate.
