Haiyu Hanaike (灰釉花生)
This is a Kyoto ware vase which Takemura-san has created.
It was burned in the makigama wood-fired kiln.
He put the ash glaze at upper body in advance and blue-green cloroed transparent glass materials are flowing and stopped halfway through vase.
Hiiro which means color of flame pattern has come out at lower body and that is distinctive characteristic of firing in the kiln.
Height : 20 cm
Width : 8 cm
Takemura-san is a ceramicist who engages in creative activities in Yamashina-ku, Kyoto prefecture. It’s interesting that color changes depending on settings, temperature and a part of plants, though same glaze is used.
