Shigaraki Kaki (信楽花器)
This is a Shigaraki ware vase which Arakawa-san has created.
Firing in a cave kiln.
He made the shape by throwing on the potter's wheel.
The shape seems to change depending on where you look at.
Ashes are covered with oval mouth and that lets patterns better view.
Height : 34.7 cm
Width : 27.8 cm
Diameter : 19.4 cm
Arakawa-san lives in Shigaraki-cho, Shiga prefecture to make his unique ceramics. A modern adaptation from unglazed high-fired pottery in Shigaraki ware.
