Hakuji Chawan (白瓷茶碗)
This is a Kyoto ware tea bowl which Ikai-san has created.
You see the design like crimpy lines with glaze, it's called "kannyuu".
It happens naturally because there's difference in shrinkage between glaze and raw clay.
That's not kinds of crack or scratch which is made when it's broken.
Height : 9.5 cm
Diameter : 13.8 cm
Ikai-san was born and grew up in Gojozaka, Kyoto. An elegant blue porcelain shows his sincere passion to ceramic as well as ash-glazed pottery.
