Hasu Guinomi (蓮ぐい呑)

This is a Kyoto ware sake cup which Higuchi-san has created.
Potter's wheel throwing to shape.
Firing in the electric kiln.
It can be also used for water, juice, beer and other beverages.
Available for dishwasher, dryer and microwave oven.

Hasu is one of the favorite flowers in Japan, which means holiness, salvation and composure.
Breeding on the water surface, on the contrary Buddhism said that the lotus flower fully blooms in paradise.
Accordingly people find some symbols of Buddha there.

Seihakuji (青白磁)
It's one kind of hakuji, there's the pale blue-green color caused by subtle amount of iron.
The transparent color that blends into nature is really impressive on the whole.
It's all started with baked works in China.
The glaze containing iron turns to light blue by reduction firing.
